實證基礎的閱讀教學指的是教學方案有成功的紀錄。亦即,教學方案用在某特定學生群体時,是可信,有效的,而且有助於閱讀成就的進步。
Research-based instruction and
scientifically based research為有同樣意思的詞彙,而其所包含的特性為:客觀、有效、可信、系統化、經審閱過。

• refereed—data that have been approved
for publication by a panel of independent reviewers
